The Texas Department of Public Safety operates the Eurocopter EC145 and the AS350 (B3). The helicopters are equipped with many custom features including a 30 million foot-candle “Night Sun” search light, a Wescam thermal imager, a state-of-the-art Global Positioning System, a moving map system, specialized police radios, and long-line/water rescue gear.
