Metro Aviation awarded EC135 completions

Shreveport, LA- Metro Aviation has announced a recent contract award to provide completion services for two new offshore configured EC135s for Air Logistics. Air Logistics, a Bristow company, provides helicopter services, maintenance and other support services to the oil and gas industry and operates more than 170 single and twin-turbine helicopters in the United States. The two light twin helicopters are slated for offshore service on the Gulf of Mexico. Metro Aviation will complete the aircraft at their new facilities in Shreveport, Louisiana under direct contract with Air Logistics.
Metro specializes in total helicopter completions and with this recent award, have brought their total EC135 completions to 115. Metro has pioneered several innovations, features, and optional equipment for the EC135 and EC145 and the company holds the distinction of finishing more EC135s than any other completion center.
This year marks the 25th anniversary for Metro Aviation and the company will open new facilities the mid part of 2007 with over 160,000 square feet to serve its worldwide customers. Milton Geltz, Managing Director for Metro Aviation, commented, “We certainly appreciate the confidence that Air Logistics has in Metro and we look forward to delivering a product that is on time, on budget and without compromise.” Metro Aviation is an internationally recognized provider of helicopter completions in any mission configuration with specialization in air medical interiors. Comprehensive maintenance services are also available with overhaul, manufacturing, airframe modification, and engineering through the company’s FAR Part 145 repair station certificate.
